Starbucks Corporation, Seattle, WA, revealed that Kevin
Johnson, president and COO and a 7-year member of the Board
of Directors, will assume the role and responsibilities of president
and CEO, effective April 2017.
At that time, current Chairman and CEO Howard Schultz will
be appointed executive chairman, shifting his focus to innovation, design and development of Starbucks Reserve Roasteries
around the world, expansion of the Starbucks Reserve retail store
format, and the company’s social impact initiatives. He will continue to serve as chairman of the board.

growing our core business around the world into the future,” Mr.
As president and COO since March 2015, Mr. Johnson has led
the company’s global operating businesses across all geographies
as well as the core support functions of Starbucks’ supply chain,
marketing, human resources, technology, and mobile and digital
platforms. Mr. Johnson has been a Starbucks board member since
2009, and will continue to serve in that capacity.
Mr. Johnson’s career spans 33 years in the technology industry,
which included a 16-year career at Microsoft and a five-year tour
as CEO of Juniper Networks.
Nellson Nutraceutical Realigns Organization
Nellson Nutraceutical, Anaheim, CA, has realigned its organization, naming Jean Filion as COO and Bart Child as senior vice
president of commercial development.
As president of Nellson Canada, Mr. Filion successfully integrated the recently acquired MultiBar business with Nellson’s
Canadian operations. With the additional role as COO, he will
oversee all Nellson operations and will harmonize the business
processes across the West Coast and Canadian footprint. Mr.
Child will take on a new role as senior vice president of commercial development. This functional group will include research and
product development in addition to his previous responsibilities
for sales and marketing.
The company also plans to build a new state-of-the-art bar manufacturing facility in Ontario, CA, to meet growing demand. NW
